Today's new Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster info comes as a sequel to the Spider version of the same model which was rumored at the end of last month. No matter the name, Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster or Spider, its becoming more certain that the Italian carmaker is planning a new version of the popular mini. The Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster is said to become an exclusive, hardcore version of the standard model, with no roof, that's inspired by the Zagato Abarth 750 T from 1959.

As far as the engine options go, the Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster could get its horses from a 1.4 liter T-Jet engine with 178 hp, a 1.4-liter turbo with 180 hp or a 1.4 MultiAir engine that's currently available with two power outputs levels. If the Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster will get

the last unit, it will output 163bhp and 184lb ft of torque or 178bhp and 199lb ft of torque.

The performance figures of the Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster could be under the 7.4 second mark for the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time.

As far as the exterior design goes, the Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster will have a cut-down windscreen and will be sold in two versions - a hard-top and an open version. The Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster

will also have wide exhaust pipes, a rear wing and bigger wheels. The interior of the car most probably will have sport bucket seats and various styling accents to distinguish itself from other versions of the mini.

For better handling, the Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster will have a stiffer suspension and bigger, more powerful brakes.
