Audi has revealed today the Audi R8 V10 LMS GT3 with which United Autosports from Leeds will compete in the 2010 FIA GT3 European Championship. The United Autosports Audi R8 V10 LMS GT3 was developed by Audi Sport in cooperation with quattro GmbH and represents the first thoroughbred "customer" sports car in the carmaker's 30-year modern motor sport history.
The Audi R8 V10 LMS GT3 has lost all its standard interior trim, has received a race-spec gearbox and various weight-paring carbon fiber.
The Audi R8 V10 LMS GT3 price is 267,000 GBP and United Autosports has bought two of them. With them, the racing team hopes to defend the FIA GT3 European Championship title for the German ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ manufacturer.
The Audi R8 V10 LMS GT3 will compete for the first time in the British GT Championship opener at Oulton Park, Cheshire, on Easter Monday (April 5th). After this event, it will be present at the FIA Euro races at Silverstone, Northamptonshire, on May 2nd.
