Audi RS5 Has 422 hp

 »  »  »

Audi says officially that their new toy, the Audi RS5, develops 450 hp at 8,250 rpm and 430 Nm between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. However, according to the French press, these numbers are a bit higher than the actual output they measured. Apparently, when they tested the new Audi RS5 on the dyno, the result was only 422 hp. This is more almost 30 hp less than the official specs, which is quite a lot. If this is true, this puts the Audi RS5 right next to the BMW M3. Audi has not yet made any statement regarding the French findings.

When they discovered that the Audi RS5 has 422 hp, the journalists were comparing it to the Nissan GT-R, which on paper, has 485 hp.

What they discovered was that the actual, real, output of the Nissan GT-R sits higher, at 505 hp. However, the engines of the Nissan GT-R are built manually, so no two of them are alike.
