Audi announced today that they're going to unveil a diesel version of the RS5. Audi's high-performance TDI concept is going to have its world debut at the AMI event in Leipzig. According to our sources, the Audi RS5 TDI is going to be powered by a tuned up version of the 3.0-liter V6 TDI engine, which develops 385 PS and a massive 750 Nm of torque. Audi expects the TDI RS5 to be able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in around 4.0 seconds and to reach a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h). Audi also expects that the RS5 TDI is going to offer a combined fuel consumption of 5 liters / 100 km (47 mpg). The Audi RS5 TDI is going to be fitted with an electric supercharger, which, apparently, is going to eliminate turbo lag.

We'll have more details about the Audi RS5 TDI as soon as the Ingolstadt carmaker makes them available.
