Audi revealed today the new Sport Quattro Concept, which is going to have its world debut next week at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The Sport Quattro follows the Quattro Concept, which Audi premiered at the Paris auto show back in 2010. The Audi Sport Quattro measures 181.18 in (4,602 mm) in length, 77.32 in (1,964 mm) in width, 54.57 in (1,386 mm) in height and it has a 109.61 in (2,784 mm) wheelbase. The Audi Sport concept weighs 4,078.55 lb (1,850 kg). Here comes the fun part. To power the Sport Quattro, Audi uses a plug-in hybrid drive system that has a total output of 515 kW (700 hp) and 800 Nm (590.05 lb-ft). Even though it has mountains of power, the Audi Sport Quattro is rated with a fuel economy of 94.09 US mpg (2.5 liters per 100 kilometers) and a CO2 emissions level of 94.95 g/mile (59 g/km).

The Audi Quattro Sport's powertrain includes a 4.0 TFSI twin-turbo V8 engine that has an output of 412 kW (560 hp) and 700 Nm (516.29 lb-ft) of torque. This engine is equipped with cylinder on demand (COD) system and a start-stop system. Between the engine and the Audi Sport Quattro's 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox there's an electric motor that develops 110 kW and 400 Nm (295.02 lb-ft) of torque and a 14.1 kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery.

Audi's official performance figures of the Sport Quattro Concept says it can accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.7 seconds and that it has a top speed of 189.52 mph (305 km/h).

In electric-only mode, the Audi Sport Quattro is able to cover a maximum distance of 31.07 miles (50 km). The new Audi Sport concept comes with a rear axle sport diff, a wall box for charging the batteries, and an intelligent management system that controls the three drive modes: EV, Hybrid and Sport.

The Audi Sport Quattro is equipped with 21-inch center-locking wheels, Matrix LED lights and various design elements inspired by the Ingolstadt carmaker's models of the 1980s. Audi gives the Sport Quattro concept various CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) elements such as the front splitter, the rear diffuser, lights surrounds, and sills. The concept is also equipped with an active rear spoiler, and door handles that extend automatically when they sense an approaching hand. The Audi Sport Quattro previews a reasonable practical production model, as it offers 10.59 cubic ft (300 liters) of luggage space.

For the interior of the Sport Quattro, Audi developed a multifunction sport steering wheel with various virtual 3D displays, a new digital instrument cluster and a head-up display. The Sport Quattro is also equipped with various carbon fiber trim parts, racing bucket seats, and an innovative air conditioning system.

The full details and specifications of the new Audi Sport are available here. The production version of the Audi Sport Quattro should be expected in a few years' time.
