Audi's never-ending quest to give their TT coupe and roadster more power continues today with the TT RS plus. The first rumors regarding the Audi TT RS plus started quite a while back, and today we get the first chance to see the German high-performance coupe for the first time. The Ingolstadt manufacturer announced that the TT RS plus will also be available as a roadster, but we guess we'll have to wait a little bit more to see it. At first glance, the TT RS plus looks identical to the regular TT RS, but there are a few subtle differences. For starters, the TT RS plus features a new Singleframe radiator grille, with a diamond-pattern mesh and a matt aluminum-look frame finish. Its side mirror covers are made from carbon fiber and its 19-inch wheels feature a black finish with red accents.

The Audi TT RS plus also features a carbon fiber styling package for its engine bay and an aluminum gear lever knob.

Even though visually, the Audi TT RS plus is not much different from the regular model, there's a whole different story under its hood. The TT RS plus is powered by the same 2.5-liter TFSI 5-cylinder engine, but it develops 15 kW (20 hp) and 15 Nm (11.06 lb-ft) of torque more. This means that the total output of the Audi TT RS plus is 265 kW (360 hp) and 465 Nm (342.97 lb-ft) of torque.

Extra power means more fun. Audi rates the top speed of the TT RS plus at 280 km/h (173.98 mph). The Audi TT RS plus coupe is able to rocket from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 4.1 seconds when equipped with the S tronic transmission, or in 4.3 seconds with the manual gearbox. The roadster is able to accomplish the same task in 4.2 and 4.4 seconds respectively.

Taking into account its potential, the TT RS plus seems quite efficient. Audi says it offers a 27.67 US mpg (8.5 liters of fuel per 100 km) fuel consumption in the Coupe S tronic version and a 27.35 US mpg (8.6 liters per 100 km) fuel economy as a roadster.

One of the main reasons, the Audi TT RS plus is able to achieve such figures is its lightweight ASF body, which is made from aluminum. The coupe has a 4.0 kilograms (8.82 lb) per horsepower power-to-weight ratio, while the roadster stands at 4.2 kilograms (9.26 lb) per horsepower.

The Audi TT RS plus will be available with the carmaker's quattro all-wheel-drive system, and it will offer a choice between a 6-speed manual gearbox and the trick 7-speed S tronic. The S tronic transmission offers the benefit of a launch control function. As an optional extra, Audi will throw in the magnetic ride adaptive damping system too. The fixed rear wing, the four-piston fixed calipers and the perforated brake disks come as standard.

Audi TT RS plus's price starts at €60,650 EUR (manual coupe) and goes up to €62,800 EUR for the S tronic coupe. The roadster will cost you at least €63,500 EUR (manual). The S tronic version will set you back €65,650 EUR.
