BMW M3 DTM Safety Car

 »  »  »

BMW released today the first images of their new M3 safety car for the DTM (the German touring car championship). Unfortunately, there are not official details to go with the car, which will enter the competition next season. Judging from the images released by BMW, we can make a few observations. The new M3 DTM Safety Car comes with revised aerodynamics, which includes a pair of carbon fiber attachments for the front bumper, and a discreet boot lid spoiler.

The BMW M3 DTM safety car is also equipped with a new bonnet, featuring two large air vents. This might suggest that the engine of the M3 safety car is not exactly your average V8. BMW might have tweaked it a bit, for the safety car to be able to keep up with the DTM racers.

At the interior, BMW's new M3 DTM safety car features a roll cage, a racing steering wheel, and sport bucket seats. We'll have more details on the new M3 safety car as soon as BMW makes them available.
