BMW finally revealed today the M3 Pickup, and there goes the best April Fool's Day joke we have ever seen. Usually, on April 1st, car manufacturers do all kind of jokes, but BMW's M3 pickup is the most elaborate one ever. Companies usually issue a press release with some funny announcement, however, BMW actually went and built a whole new car. They even made a camouflaged M3 pickup prototype and sent it for testing around the Nurburgring. There's also a spy video of those tests. Unfortunately, when people and BMW fans found out about a possible Bimmer pickup, they were enraged. So, BMW had to admit it was a joke before April 1st.

For what it's worth, here's BMW prank. The M3 pickup develops 309 kW/420 hp and has a rear-axle

load capacity of up to 450 kg. It comes with a Targa roof, has wind tunnel developed aerodynamics and a bespoke suspension setup. The pickup actually has the same Cd drag coefficient as BMW's M3 coupe.

During testing on the Nordschleife, BMW managed to get the M3 pickup up to a top speed of more than 300 km/h. The very serious performance of the M3 pickup Bimmer is the result of being very lightweight. It's 50 kg lighter than the M3 convertible. Removing the Targa roof will shed an additional 20 kg.

In terms of carrying capacity, the BMW M3 pickup is able to pick up 20 standard 46-inch golf bags.
