BMW M8 Hybrid

Recent Reports from the German press are suggesting the Munich based manufacturer is working on the BMW M8 Hybrid which is based on the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept unveiled while back. Apparently, the BMW M8 Hybrid will be close to supercar realm with as it will be powered by the 5.0-liter V10 engine from the M5 coupled with an electric motor. If this is true, the BMW M8 Hybrid will output at least 507 hp at 7750 rpm and 520 Nm of torque coming from the petrol engine. The electric motor will most certainly increase these numbers. In fact, if the BMW M8 Hybrid will keep the same electric motor layout as seen in the Vision concept, it will develop an additional 150 hp. The BMW Vision concept has two electric motors, one for each axle.

With almost 700 hp, the BMW M8 Hybrid will be quite a mad ride.

As far as its design goes, the BMW M8 Hybrid will be based on the same concept, with a few modifications, obviously. It appears the new model will be longer than the concept and will offer a 2+2 seating configuration.

If the new performance hybrid model will go into production, it will probably become available in two years time.
