Bentley EXP 9F V8 and V6 Hybrid

When the Bentley EXP 9F was initially unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, the luxury carmaker announced that it will be available with the 6.0-liter W12 engine only. However, this week Bentley announced they're considering smaller engines too. There are strong indications that the EXP 9F will be sold with Bentley's new 4.0-litre petrol V8 engine. For the environmentally conscious customers, Bentley is also considering a V6 plug-in hybrid version of the EXP 9F. The Bentley EXP 9F V8 is expected to produce around 500 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 660 Nm of torque at 1,700 rpm to 5,000 rpm. Even though Bentley did not disclose any official performance figures, we can speculate that the EXP 9F V8 is going to have a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of under 6 seconds.

The Bentley EXP 9F V6 Hybrid is expected to have CO2 emissions as low as 130g/km and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of under 5 seconds. This is quite an achievement taking into consideration its size.

By the time the Bentley EXP 9F V8 and the V6 Hybrid hit the market, these performance and efficiency figures might change. Offering more engine choices for the EXP 9F instead of just monster W12 is always a good choice. Let's hope they'll also do something about that awful front fascia too.
