Bentley To Enter The Dakar Rally

 »  »  »

Here's an unexpected entry into next year's Dakar rally - Bentley. Even though the EXP, which was unveiled back in March, was not so well received because of its design, Bentley is determined to go ahead with it. They are going to make a racing version of the EXP for the 2013 Dakar Rally. They are trying to put some racing soul into this rather unattractive SUV, which is probably going to be based on VW's Touareg. So far the Touareg managed to win the Dakar rally twice, so we should expect similar results from Bentley. If this will help sell some EXPs or not, we shall have to wait and see. The British press is reporting that Bentley is currently buying Race Touaregs to convert them for the 2013 Dakar rally. Let's hope they won't put on the same headlights we've seen on the EXP.

So far, the VW group has raced both the Touareg and the Cayenne. Now they announced they're going to put Bentley's EXP through the Dakar trial. However, these are not the only SUVs of the family. Lamborghini is planning the Urus. Will we see a racing version of the Urus?
