Brabus 800 Coupe Mercedes CL

The Brabus 800 Coupe, based on the Mercedes CL600, is arguably the fastest and most powerful luxury coupe in the world. Or at least this is what Brabus claims. The power comes from the standard 5.5-liter V12 engine of the CL600 Merc, which had its displacement increased to 6.3 liters. With larger powerplant, the Brabus 800 Coupe develops 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW at 5,500 rpm and 1,420 Nm (1,047 ft-lb) of torque from 2,100 rpm. Brabus limits the toque output of the 800 Coupe to 1,100 Nm (811 ft-lb) for various technical reasons. But don't worry about that. The Brabus 800 Coupe has enough horsepowers to get from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds and to reach a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). In fact, it can go a lot faster, but Brabus also limited the 800 Coupe's top speed.

To get such huge amounts of power, Brabus had to give the Mercedes CL600 a longer stroke crankshaft, a larger cylinder bore and larger forged pistons. The CL600's standard turbo has been replaced by one developed by Brabus. Other aftermarket parts installed in the Brabus 800 Coupe include:

- Two custom exhaust manifolds with integrated turbine housings
- Four water-to-air intercoolers,
- A carbon-fiber ram-air intake
- A stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system
- Free-flow metal catalysts
- A reinforced 5-speed automatic gearbox
- A 40% locking rate limited-slip differential.

Outside, the Brabus 800 Coupe features a new front spoiler, a discreet rear boot lid spoiler, and a rear apron insert. The 800 Coupe Mercedes CL can be equipped with a variety of wheels, measuring between 18 and 22 inches, and with high performance brakes developed by Brabus.

At the interior, the Brabus 800 Coupe features a white leather / black Alcantara upholstery, and various carbon fiber styling elements.

The world debut of the Brabus 800 Coupe Mercedes CL takes place at the 2011 Dubai International Auto Show. The price of the car has not been disclosed.
