The Brabus Mercedes CL500 4MATIC and the Brabus Mercedes S500 4MATIC have been announced today, ahead of their global premiere at the 2011 Essen Motor Show. In fact, Brabus launched today their new power kit for Mercedes' 4.7-liter eight-cylinder twin turbo engine, which has a standard output of 435 hp (429 bhp) / 320 kW and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). Both, the CL500 and the S500 are powered by this engine. Brabus is offering the new kit in two versions, with two diffrenet output levels.

When equipped with the BRABUS B50 - 490 PowerXtra, the Mercedes CL500 and the S Class 500 are rated with an output of 490 hp (482 bhp) / 360 kW and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft).

The BRABUS B50 - 520 PowerXtra will get you 520 hp (512 bhp) / 382 kW at 5,250 rpm and 820 Nm (604 lb-ft) of torque between 1,800 and 3,500 rpm. The extra horsepower is gained through and ECU re-map.

Both, the Brabus CL500 and the Brabus S500 accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 4.5 seconds and have a top speed of 300 km/h.



Apart from the performance boost, the Brabus Mercedes CL500 also comes with a new aerodynamics package. It includes a new front spoiler, side skirts with LEDs, a rear spoiler and a new rear bumper.

For both the CL500 and the S500, Brabus is offering 18-, 21- and 22-inch light alloy wheels, in various designs, Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA tires, a sportier suspension system and bigger brakes.
