Mercedes S Class Coupe Concept

 »  »  »

The Mercedes S Class Coupe concept had its world debut today at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show. Even though Mercedes calls it a concept, the S Class Coupe seems to be pretty close to production form, except for the interior maybe. Mercedes calls the new concept an S Class, but we could speculate that this in fact, previews the future generation (or replacement) of the Cl Class. The Mercedes S Class Coupe is powered by a 4.6-liter (4,663 cc) V8 biturbo engine that's good for 455 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Apart from the powerful engine, the S Class Coupe comes with the Intelligent Drive technology and two so-called "camera eyes", which are able to create a 3D view of the 50m area in front of the car. The Coupe S Class is also fitted with the 6DVision system that's able to detect the position and movement of objects over a range of up to 500 meters.

The coupe Mercedes S Class, just as its sedan versions, comes equipped with ROAD SURFACE SCAN, MAGIC BODY CONTROL, and the same infotainment system.

The Mercedes S Class Coupe measures 5050 mm in length, 1958 mm in width and 1409 mm in height and it has a 2945 mm long wheelbase. It sits on 21-inch alloys and it has a front engine rear-wheel-drive architecture and it's equipped with full-LED headlights. For the interior of the S Class, Mercedes chose to use a spectacular instrument panel, including the 30.7-cm (12.3-inch) screens available in the sedan version.

So far, Mercedes did not disclose the date on which the S Class coupe concept will go into production, but we're pretty sure it will be soon.
