Dacia Duster production version unveiled

 »  »  »

Dacia has released the first official images and details of the Dacia Duster production version which keeps most of the styling cues featured by the concept. The Dacia Duster production version will be premiered at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show and will hit the market later next year.

What strikes us the most regarding the production version of the Dacia Duster is the fact that it keeps most of the amazing styling cues previewed by the concept. Even the awesome rear lights. However, the marketing department at Dacia obviously had a say in the matter and the suicide doors seen in the Dacia Duster concept have been replaced with regular opening doors. A few other design elements have also been replaced, including the headlights and side mirrors.

As far as the engine options go, the Dacia Duster production version will be powered by a 1.5 dCi engine that delivers 106 hp and 240 Nm of torque. With this engine the company promises the Dacia Duster production version will offer a 0 to 100 km/h sprint of 12.1 seconds and a top speed of 178 km/h and all this with a fuel economy of 5.4 liters per 100 km. Other engines available for the production version of the Dacia Duster include a 1.6 liter MPI with either 90 hp or 105 hp.

The Dacia Duster production version price will be announced closer to the launch date.
