Renault Duster Detour

Renault revealed today the Duster Detour concept, ahead of its public debut, which is going to take place at the Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS 2013). The Renault Duster Detour concept is meant to introduce the budget SUV to the South Africa market, where the 4x4 went on sale here last month. Renault claims that the design of the Detour Duster was inspired by Mad Max, the Terminator, and the rugged SUV that fight in the Dakar rally. Frankly, we failed to spot any elements that could come from these three sources. The Renault Duster Detour comes with a two-tone orange and gray paint job, tinted windows, 18-inch alloys, a raised suspension and all-terrain tires. The Duster Detour also features somewhat wider wheel arches, a modified front grille and bumper and LED DRLs.

The only truly distinctive elements we were able to spot are the bespoke headlights with integrated LEDs.

The Renault Duster Detour is also fitted with darkened LED tail lights, a roof spoiler, and a modified exhaust with two tail pipes. Renault also gave the Duster Detour a personalized set of alloys finished in dark gray with orange accents.
