Fiat 500 Estate info

The first Fiat 500 Estate info has surfaced on the web last night. Apparently, the Italian carmaker wants to bring back the Fiat 500 Estate as well as offering a four-door hatch version of the 500. The Fiat 500 Estate Giardiniera and the Fiat 500 4-door hatchback, which will be called the Fiat Lungo, will enter production by the end of 2011.

The possibility of the Fiat 500 Estate was suggested at the launch of the new 500, almost three years ago, but the body style has not yet made it to the production line. Probably, the financial crisis that hit the automotive industry postponed the launch of the Fiat 500 Estate Giardiniera and the Fiat 500 4-door hatchback.

If these rumors become a reality, the Fiat 500 Estate will probably go head-to-head with the Mini Clubman. The Fiat 500 Estate Giardiniera and the Fiat Lungo will offer more interior space and luggage room, so both models will have a better fighting chance on the U.S. market.

We'll have more details on the Fiat 500 Estate Giardiniera and the Fiat 500 Lungo 4-door hatchback as soon as the Italian carmaker makes it official.
