The new Fisker Atlantic had its world debut today at the 2012 New York International Auto Show. Fisker's new model, the Atlantic, is a four-door plug-in hybrid sedan, which promises to offer luxury and practicality. In fact, the Fisker Atlantic is more than an electric vehicle (EV). It's an EVer, or Electric Vehicle with extended range. The Atlantic is comes with a rear-wheel-drive system as standard, but it also offers the option of an all-wheel drive system. The Atlantic is currently a prototype, so it will be another few years before Fisker will put it on sale.

Fisker's Atlantic is powered by a four-cylinder gasoline range-extender engine, which act like a generator for the electric motor's lithium ion batteries.

It can be switched (automatically or manually) to run in an electric and a gasoline driving mode.

The Atlantic features many of the design details seen on the Fisker Karma. These include the front grille, the hood, and the headlights. The Atlantic comes with LED rear lights, and a wide opening trunk. To get a general idea about the dimensions of the Atlantic, Fisker chooses to compare it to the Audi A5.

We'll have more details about the Fisker Atlantic as soon as its manufacturer makes them available. Meanwhile, watch the Atlantic in action in the video below.
