Ford revealed today their version of the 2014 Riley Technologies Daytona Prototype, which is powered by the new direct-injected, twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine. Ford's EcoBoost Daytona Prototype is going to race in the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship under the colors of the Michael Shank Racing team. Driven by Colin Braun, Ford's Daytona Prototype is going to attempt a speed record run Daytona International Speedway on October 9th, 2013. The body of the new car shows various design cues created by Garen Nicoghosian and aerodynamic part developed by Bernie Marcus. These two are Ford's lead production designer and Ford Racing chief aerodynamicist, respectively.

Unfortunately Ford did not disclose any technical specifications regarding the new Daytona Prototype race car. We hope they'll do so in the near future.
