Ford revealed today the Mustang Thunderbirds Edition to celebrate the U.S. Air Force's aviation team's 60th Anniversary. The one-of-a-kind Mustang is going to be auctioned for charity on August 1 at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The sale is going to benefit the EAA Young Eagles organization. The Ford Mustang Thunderbirds Edition is based on the 2014 GT version of the model and the car is VIN 0001. The Thunderbirds Edition Mustang comes with the same glossy red, white and blue paint scheme as the one of the F-16 Falcon jet fighters used by the famous aviation team. Ford's Thunderbirds Edition Mustang is powered by the 5.0-liter engine and it comes with a glass roof, various logos and a wide body kit. The Mustang Thunderbirds Edition also features a "belly pan" developed by Creations n' Chrome that emulates the F-16's appearance.

The wide body kit of the Thunderbirds Mustang has been developed by TS Designs. The Ford Mustang Thunderbirds sits on a set of 22-inch alloys developed by Forgiato.

For the interior of the Mustang Thunderbirds, Ford chose a modified navigation screen, instrument cluster and rear seat-delete. The Thunderbirds Mustang comes with Recaro seats, distinctive sill plates and puddle lamps.

In terms of performance, the Thunderbirds Ford Mustang comes equipped with a Racing supercharger, an upgraded suspension, and Brembo brakes.
