Ford finally released today the details of the one-off Mustang Apollo Edition, which is based on the 2015 fastback GT version of the muscle car. This means that the Ford Mustang Apollo Edition is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine. The Mustang Apollo comes equipped with a Ford Performance supercharger and shifter and an X-pipe with side and rear exhaust. According to Ford's official specifications, the Mustang Apollo develops 627 hp and 540 lb.-ft. of torque. Apart from the power upgrade, the Ford Mustang Apollo is also fitted with a sport-tuned suspension, 6-piston Brembo brakes and custom Forgiato 21-inch alloys. At the interior, Ford's Apollo Mustang features bespoke gauges, a restyled instrument cluster, branded door sills, and a distinctive upholstery. The Ford Mustang Apollo comes with a custom body kit too.

It includes carbon fiber front splitter and rear diffuser, rocker moldings, and a rear spoiler. For that extra Apollo touch, this special Mustang features LED underbody lights, a white exterior finish with black accents, and various other styling details.

As you can imagine, Ford's new special edition Mustang is inspired by NASA's Apollo space program. The Blue Oval plans to auction it on July 23 at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The proceeds will go towards EAA youth aviation education programs, including Young Eagles.
