Ford has unveiled today in Beijing the Ford Start Concept which represents the company's first one in more than three years. The company clearly states the Ford Start Concept is not just a design study. It's powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine. The Ford Start Concept previews a vehicle destined for urban use that offers the power of a larger, I-4 engine.

The Ford Start Concept uses a turbocharging and spark-ignited, direct-injection fuel management system and has CO2 emissions below the 100 g/km level. The engine of the Ford Start Concept is coupled with a six-speed manual transmission.

The Ford Start Concept features MyFord Mobile concept technology connectivity that restricts

certain functions, such as texting, while driving. The heating, ventilation and air conditioning, engine diagnostics and passenger airbag on/off function of the Ford Start Concept can be adjusted while driving through voice activation.

The Ford Start Concept features lightweight composite body panels on an aluminum structure with a hybrid aluminum, high-strength steel body construction which includes a lightweight aluminum safety cell.
