Ford unveiled today their latest van concept, called the Tourneo, which will be premiered at the 2012 Geneva auto show. The Ford Tourneo previews a new line of one-ton Transit vans / MPVs / people carriers, which will be marketed in Europe and Asia. Featuring Ford's Kinetic Design language, the Tourneo comes with eight seats, and it's aimed at personal use, and at the lifestyle and executive shuttle sectors. Its rear seats can be removed or positioned in various configurations, to suite any purpose. One of the key highlights of the Tourneo includes the SYNC voice-activated, in-car connectivity system and its ECOnetic Technologies.

The Ford Tourneo promises to offer a car-like interior, with high-quality appointments, and a driver-focused cockpit.

The Tourneo concept features leather upholstery, which we doubt that it will make it into production. The Tourneo will become a commercial vehicle after all.

For the Tourneo, Ford chose to use a Rear-view camera, the Lane Departure Warning and Driver Alert system, and Advanced restraint system.

The production version of the Ford Tourneo will come on the market this year, and it will be available with the 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine. Ford's Tourneo will come with Auto-Stop-Start technology, front-wheel drive, and a six-speed manual transmission. Three power output levels will be available (100 PS, 125 PS and 155 PS), various body styles and two wheelbases (SWB and LWB).

The Ford Tourneo's price list will be announced at a later date, obviously.
