Because of the current FIA regulations, some of the Formula 1 teams are now looking for other competitions to race in. The 24 Hour of Le Mans race organizers want to seize the opportunity and have invited them to compete in the French classic.
The 24 Hour of Le Mans race is the work of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). Remy Brouard, the boss at ACO, suggested that he's opened for discussion with the F1 teams regarding the technical regulations of the Le Mans 24 Hour race. Brouard refused to mention if there are any current talks with any of the F1 teams regarding joining the French race.
Previously, Renault and BMW have raced at Le Mans and they managed to win the 1978 and 1999 events.
