Anonymous Threatens To Take Down Formula 1 At Montreal GP

 »  »  »

Anonymous, the famous hacker group, released a statement threatening to take down all Formula 1 servers during next weekend's Montreal GP (Quebec, Canada). Anonymous announces that between the 7th of June, all the way through the 10th of June, they will gradually "take down all F1 websites, dump the servers and databases and wreck anything else F1 related they can find on the internet". Anonymous' position comes to support the recent protests in the area against the "Special Law 78". Apparently, this new law puts Quebec in violation of basic human rights, and it was condemned by human rights watchers around the world. Spectators are asked to boycott this year's F1 Montreal Grand Prix and drivers to not cross the starting line.

If Anonymous will go through with this plan, it will be the second time this year. During the 2012 Bahrain GP they hacked into the F1 servers and found that the personal information, including credit card numbers, of all spectators was kept un-encrypted. They released all this data on the World Wide Web.
