Hyundai released today the first teaser sketch of the i40 Sedan and announced that the world premiere of the new saloon will take place at the Barcelona Motor Show on May 12th, 2011. The i40 sedan is styled following Hyundai's 'fluidic sculpture' design language, which involves dynamic lines, inspired by nature. Hyundai designed the i40 sedan at their European R&D headquarters in Russelsheim, Germany, which means the main focus of the new model is the EU market.
The sedan version of the Hyundai i40 has a 2.77 meters wheelbase, 1025 mm of front head room, 1455mm for the shoulder and 1170mm of leg room.
So far, Hyundai did not release any details regarding the engine and transmission options
offered by the new i40 sedan. We can assume however, that the 1.7-litre diesel engine powering the Hyundai i40 Estate will also find its way into the sedan. Other petrol and diesel engines will also be available.
