The British press has uncovered the plans for the Hyundai i40 Coupe which will go head-to-head on the same market segment as the Passat CC. This of course means the Hyundai i40 Coupe will have to go a little more up-market than the company's current models. To be able to compete with the German four-door coupe, the Hyundai i40 Coupe price will have to be a few thousand Euros lower than the one of the CC.
The Hyundai i40 Coupe will be offered with both diesel and petrol engines, including a 1.7-litre and a 1.6-litre unit. The Hyundai i40 Coupe 1.7 diesel will be sold in two power output versions of 115bhp and 140bhp. The details of the Hyundai i40 Coupe 1.6 petrol are not yet clear, but it is known is that it will be offered with both a
manual and an automatic transmission.
The Hyundai i40 Coupe might hit the market sometime in 2012.
