Volvo announced today that the last of the current version of the Volvo S60 has rolled off the production line at the Ghent factory. The last Volvo S60 is a Sapphire Black model a 5-cylinder gasoline engine that's going to a customer in Taiwan.
The Volvo S60 is one of the most important models built by the Ghent plant which produced in 2001 a record number of 108,906 units.
The plant will stop the production of the current version of the Volvo S60 in preparation for the new version which will enter the line in 2010. The company states that the present capacity of the floor line will be doubled.
