The new Lexus GS 300h hybrid had its world debut today at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show, and it's expected to go on sale by the end of this year. The Lexus GS 300h is powered by a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, 16 valve, DOHC Atkinson cycle petrol engine that's equipped with a D-4S fuel injection system, Dual VVT-i and a high-efficiency Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system. The internal combustion engine of the GS 300h has an outp0ut of 133 kW/181 hp at 6,000 rpm and 221 Nm of torque between 4,200 rpm and 5,400 rpm. The hybrid system of the GS 300h is complete by an electric motor that's good for 105 kW/143 hp. The Lexus GS 300h is equipped with an Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT) and it's rated with a final horsepower output of 164 kW/223 hp.

In terms of efficiency, Lexus rates the 300h with a fuel economy of 4.7 liters per 100 km and with a 109 g/km CO2 emissions level.

Lexus equips the GS 300h with a double wishbone front suspensions system and a multilink rear one. The top of the line Lexus GS 300h F Sport is equipped with Active Variable Suspension (AVS). Apart from the fancy suspension system, the F Sport version of the GS 300h is also equipped with LED foglamps and 19-inch alloys.



For the interior of the GS 300h Lexus is offering the carmaker's new Human Machine Interface technologies, an S-Flow energy saving air-conditioning system, a second generation Remote Touch Interface (RTI) and a full-color Head-Up Display (HUD).

In terms of safety, the new hybrid GS comes with the Advanced Pre-Crash Safety system (PCS) that includes a Driver Monitor Camera, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Apart from those systems, Lexus is going to sell the GS 300h with a Lane-Keep Assist (LKA) system, a Night View camera, Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and a BSM (Blind Spot Monitor) radar.

The Lexus GS 300h's price is going to be announced at a later date.
