Lexus revealed the new generation RX (2013) model range at this year's Geneva auto show. Both the Lexus RX 450h hybrid and the RX 350 have been updated for the 2013 model year. The 2013 Lexus RX comes with new exterior and interior styling and updated engines. In terms of design, the new Lexus RX (2013) features new headlights with integrated LED DRLs, re-styled taillights and a new front bumper. For the interior of the 2013 RX, Lexus is offering a new steering wheel, a re-designed center console, and various other styling accents. Another novelty is brought by the 2013 Lexus RX 450h, which now offers a 'sport' driving mode in addition to the 'Eco' mode. In Sport, the steering effort, throttle mapping and transmission-shifting of the 2013 RX 450h are modified to offer a more energetic experience.

The 2013 Lexus RX 350 is powered by the 3.5-liter V6, which is mated to a six-speed Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). Thanks to an output of 270 hp @ 6,200 rpm and 248 lb.-ft. @ 4,700 rpm, the new RX350 (2013) is able to get from 0 to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds and up to a top speed of 112 mph. Lexus estimates the fuel consumption of the new RX350 (2013) to be 20 mpg in the combined cycle for the AWD version and 21 mpg for the front-wheel-drive model.

The 2013 Lexus RX 450h is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine and three electric motors (one used as a generator / engine starter, one used for driving the rear wheels and a third one used for the front wheels).



The internal combustion engine of the new RX450h (2013) develops 245 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 234 lb.-ft. @ 4,800 rpm, while its electric motors have a total output of 222 hp. Lexus rates the AWD version of the new Lexus RX 450h (2013) with a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 112 mph. It's combined CO2 fuel consumption is 29 mpg.

In terms of equipment, the new Lexus RX (2013) features the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system, 18-inch alloys, and electric power steering. In terms of safety, the 2013 Lexus RX features the Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) system, Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Smart Stop Technology.
