Lotus ended their night in Frankfurt yesterday revealing the new Evora GTE road going version, which the most powerful street legal model the company has ever built. The Lotus Evora GTE is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine, equipped with Dual-Variable Valve Timing and a supercharger, which outputs 444 PS at 7000 rpm and 420 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm. Unfortunately, Lotus did not test the Evora GTE's 0-62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration time yet. The top speed of the Evora GTE is also unknown at the moment, as well as its fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Lotus will announce these details at a later date.
Lotus equips the Evora GTE with their new DPM Dynamic Performance Management system, which incorporates several systems, including the car's
ABS and EBD, ESC, and TCS. The DPM system of the Evora GTE also includes a few new innovations, such as the Corner Brake Control (CBC), Drag, Torque Control (DTC), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD)and the Understeer Recognition system.
To get the extra power out of the V6 engine of the Evora, Lotus gave the GTE a Harrop HTV 1320 supercharger, which features utilizing Eaton Twin Vortex Series (TVS) technology.
Other distinctive features of the Evora GTE include its new aerodynamics package. It features a new front spoiler with large air intakes and a carbon fiber lip, carbon fiber side mirror coverings, a huge rear wing, new side skirts, and a new rear bumper with an integrated carbon diffuser.
