Lotus announced today the Exige S Roadster price list for the British, European and Japanese markets, where the new version of the sports car is on sale now. Usually, convertible versions are heavier than the coupes, but this is not the case with the Exige S Roadster. In fact, the open-top version of the model is 10kg lighter than the coupe (1166kg). The Lotus Exige S Roadster is powered by a mid-mounted, transverse 3.5-litre DOHC V6 VVTi, 24-valve equipped with a Harrop HTV 1320 Supercharger. Lotus rates the output of the Exige S Roadster at 345 hp (350 PS) at 7,000 rpm and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque at 4,500 rpm. With such a low weight, and quite a powerful engine, the roadster version of the Exige S is able to accelerate from nought to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and from zero to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds. Its top speed is limited to 145 mph (233 km/h).
Lotus equips the Exige S Roadster with a 6-speed manual transmission, and optional steering wheel mounted paddle-shifters. The Exige S Roadster features a fully independent double wishbone suspension at the front and a rear anti-roll bar. It also comes with Bilstein dampers and Eibach coaxial springs.

Lotus rates the Exige S Roadster with a 19.5 mpg (14.5 litres / 100km) fuel consumption in the city and a 37.2 mpg (7.6 litres / 100km) fuel economy on the highway. Its combined fuel economy is 28.0 mpg (10.1 litres / 100km) and its CO2 emissions are rated at 236 g/km.
The Lotus Exige S Roadster price for the UK market is set at £52,900 GBP (incl. VAT). If you live in the rest of Europe you'll have to spend €55,378 Euros to get one. On the Japanese market, an Exige S Roadster is going to cost you ¥8,500,000 YEN.
