The latest rumor coming from the UK says a Lotus Exige V6 is in the works. The company has already a V6 unit powering its models. The Lotus Exige has a 3.5 liter V6 engine under its hood, so nothing can stop the manufacturer putting the same engine in the Exige. In fact, they already have as the Lotus Exige V6 has been spied recently. If the Lotus Exige V6 will have the same engine, it means it will feature VVT-I technology and will output 276 hp and 174lb.-ft. of torque. This will make the Lotus Exige V6 the most powerful version in the model line-up. The Exige S has "only" 257 hp.
The Lotus Exige V6 will be equipped with 6-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel-drive which will make it quite a fun toy in our opinion.
As seen from the spy images, the Lotus Exige V6 will have a wide body kit, with wider fenders and new air vents as the larger engine needs increased cooling. The Lotus Exige V6 will also have a new exhaust system and probably better brakes and a new suspension set-up.
The Lotus Exige V6 price and availability are not known yet, as the car is still in a development phase.
