McLaren announced today the pricing and specifications of the 650S coupe and spider for the U.S. market. The USA debut of the McLaren 650S is going to take place next month at the 2014 New York International Auto Show. The McLaren 650S' price starts at $265,500 for the coupe and it goes up to $280,225 for the Spider. If you live in Canada, the coupe version of the 650S is going to cost you at least CAD $287,000 and you'll have to pay CAD $305,500 or more for the Spider. The McLaren 650S went on sale today both in the USA and Canada. Here are the specifications of McLaren's 650S. Thanks to a 3.8-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, the 650S is able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and it needs just 5.7 seconds to get past the 100 mph mark.
According to McLaren's official specs, the 650S can run the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds at a top speed of 207 mph. In comparison to its granddaddy, the McLaren F1, the 650S is 0.6 sec faster over the standing quarter mile and a second quicker to 124 mph.
The McLaren 650S' standard equipment includes carbon ceramic brakes, Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, Alcantara upholstery, IRIS satellite navigation with Bluetooth connectivity, SIRIUS satellite radio in North America, wireless tethering, audio streaming and voice control. The 650S' optional equipment list includes fixed-back carbon racing seats, an electric steering column adjustment assists ingress and egress, a rear parking camera and extended carbon fiber interior trim parts. The price list of these optional extras has not been announced yet.
