McLaren confirmed at the end of last week that the spider version of the MP4-12C is on its way. The McLaren 12C Spider is built on the same carbon fiber MonoCell chassis as the coupe and it will probably come with a soft-top. Even though McLaren did not release any specifications regarding the 12C Spider, we can assume it's powered by the same engine as the hardtop model. This means that the McLaren 12C Spider is equipped with a 3.8-liter V8 twin turbo engine, which develops 625 hp and 600 Nm of torque. The 12C Spider will probably reach speeds of more than 190 mph (300 km/h). The zero to 124 mph (200 km/h) acceleration should take under 9 seconds. The McLaren MP4-12C Spider will probably be priced at more than £176,000 in the UK.
