Daimler announced today that it will showcase the Mercedes ML450 HYBRID at 2009 New York Auto Show. First previewed at the Frankfurt Auto Show back in 2007, the Mercedes ML450 HYBRID faced a number of problems and was not released on the market. Maybe this new auto show presence of the Mercedes ML450 HYBRID could signal a market release of the model.
The Mercedes ML450 HYBRID is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine, that offers better fuel economy than the ML550, and an electric motor. The Mercedes ML450 HYBRID can operate in electric mode only and uses an Atkinson cycle for maximum fuel efficiency. The total power developed by the powertrain in the Mercedes ML450 HYBRID is 335 hp.
