The first teaser image of the Mercedes MLC surfaced the web today. The image was presented at Mercedes' plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and shows a covered vehicle, which could be a coupe version of the ML Class. The Mercedes MLC will be roughly the same size as the current ML, but it will have a coupe-like profile. Mercedes has developed the MLC to compete with BMW's X6. The details of the MLC are scarce at the moment, but we expect it to come with both petrol and diesel engines, and with an AWD system. The Mercedes MLC AMG is also expected to come in the future.
Dieter Zetsche, the big boss at Mercedes-Benz, says that the new ML coupe is an important part of the company's future growth plans. It's one of the ten new models Mercedes is planning to bring on the market in the next four years.
The teaser image released today also discloses the fact that the Mercedes MLC will enter production in 2015. We'll have more details on the MLC as soon as they're available.
