Mercedes Pickup Truck Announced

 »  »  »

Mercedes announced today that it aims to become the first premium carmaker to offer a mid-size pickup truck. The German manufacturer also announced that they plan to do this by the end of this decade. One of the biggest markets for pickup trucks, if not the biggest, is the United States. However, Mercedes plans to market their pickup truck everywhere, but the United States. Their target markets include Latin America, South Africa, Australia, and Europe. The new pickup truck is going to be developed by the Mercedes-Benz Vans division. Merc's official press release mentions the V-Class and the Vito. Is it possible that their first ever pickup to be based on one of these vans? As you're probably guessing, there are no details available about Merc's future pickup truck at this moment. We can only speculate.

Mercedes says that the new pickup will offer versatility, all-round utility, and a payload capacity of about one metric ton. We'll have more details about the Mercedes pickup truck in the future.
