Opel revealed today a turbocharged version of their Zafira Tourer. The Opel Zafira turbo is powered by a 1.6-liter SIDI turbocharged engine that develops 147 kW/200 hp and 300 Nm between 1,700 and 4,700 rpm. Well, this is one powerful people carrier. With this engine, the Zafira Turbo is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.9 seconds and from 80 km/h to 120 km/h in 8.3 seconds. Its top speed is rated at 225 km/h. Opel rates the Zafira Turbo with a fuel economy of 7.0 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers and a 164 g/km CO2 emissions level. The turbocharged Zafira comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, adaptive FlexRide chassis technology, the carmaker's Eye front camera, Side Blind Spot Alert and a rear view camera.

Opel is going to sell the Zafira Turbo with a panorama windscreen and a sunroof.

The equipment list of the Opel Zafira Turbo include 17- to 19-inch alloys, Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Departure Warning, AFL+ adaptive forward lighting system with Intelligent Light Ranging, and Advanced Park Assist. Opel is going to announce the Zafira Turbo's price at a later date.
