Porsche Design revealed today two new bicycle models, called the Bike RS and the Bike S, which will go on sale this fall. Porsche says that the new Bike RS and S 29" bicycles are built for speed. The "RS" in Bike RS really comes from Rennsport, or motor racing, and Porsche says that this is the high performance model. It comes with a high end carbon frame with a modular monocoque construction, 20 speed Shimano XTR gears, 29" Crank Brothers wheels, Magura disk brakes and weight optimized carbon brake levers.
The Porsche Bike S features a high performance aluminum 7005 frame, a toothed belt drive system and 11 speed Shimano Alfine IGH, hydraulic Magura disk brakes and 29" wheels.
Porsche fitted both bicycles, the Bike RS and the S, with integrated anti-theft protection. No, it's not a car alarm. It's a label with a code number placed under the paint. You have to register it on a special website.
Porsche Design did not announce the price of its new bikes.
