Scion premiered today in New York the new FR-S Sports Coupe Concept, which is basically the Toyota - Subaru co-developed model with a different, and a very nice we might add, skin. Scion's FR-S concept is a front-engine, rear-wheel drive sports car, that promises to offer exceptional handling and performance. The same as the Toyota FT-86 II, the Scion FR-S is powered by the 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated boxer engine, that features the D4-S injection system. This system uses both direct and port injection which increases the horsepower and torque output.

Scion says the FR-S concept can be equipped with either a six-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual transmission. The manual gearbox features quick and precise shifts with a short-throw, while the

automatic offers steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The Scion FR-S comes with limited-slip differential.

The design of the Scion FR-S is inspired by the Toyota 2000GT and the AE86 generation of the Corolla. What we like most are the angular headlights, which also incorporate the LED clusters.

Even though Scion hasn't officially mentioned it, we guess they will eventually build the FR-S concept.
