Seat IBL

The Seat IBL concept has its premiere tonight in Frankfurt, possibly previewing the future generation of the Toledo. The Spanish car manufacturer's new concept previews a four-door four-seat sports saloon, with a minimalistic design. Seat and Skoda are all part of the Volkswagen Group, which lately it's been following the same major design lines in all its products. From the latest generation 2011 Volkswagen Passat, to the new Skoda Mission concept together with the Seat IBL, all the group's sedan models follow the same minimalistic design concept.

The Seat IBL measures 4.67 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width, and has a 2.71 meters wheelbase. These dimensions promise a lot of room for

passengers and their luggage. Seat considers the IBL to be a crossover between a saloon and sports coupe. This probably means that Seat is looking to offer a less expensive alternative to the Mercedes CLS and the Audi A7.

The Seat IBL is equipped with full LED headlamps, which will probably make it into production, daytime running lights, and tail lights fully integrated into the bodywork. Seat's IBL concept sits on 20 inch light alloy wheels, which offer a more muscular look.

At the interior, the IBL concept features a distinctive instrument panel, covered by a single piece of curved glass, a digital display behind the steering wheel, and a navigation system offering Google Earth and real-time traffic information. The Seat IBL also offers a choice between three driving modes: Travel, sport and Efficiency.

The production version of the Seat IBL will probably be front-wheel-drive and it will be available with both petrol and diesel engines. Seat did not release any technical details regarding the new IBL concept.
