Skoda Mission

As announced a few days ago, Skoda premiered tonight in Frankfurt the Mission L, which is concept almost ready for production. The Skoda MissionL previews a future compact model which will be sold Europe, Russia and China in 2012. The Indian market will get the production version of the MissionL concept towards the end of 2011. Skoda did not release any technical specifications regarding the Mission L concept, but we believe its production version will be available with both petrol and diesel engines. We might also see a high performance vRS version of the model.

In terms of design, the Skoda MissionL shows a minimalistic design, with simple surfaces, which create a powerful image. Skoda went for this

design direction so that the future production Mission L will appeal to as many customers as possible. Skoda hopes that the Mission L will help increase its global annual sales to 1.5 million vehicles by 2018.

The Skoda Mission is currently a design concept, so some of its features might not make it to the production line. However, we do believe the LED daytime running lights will be available as an optional extra on the commercial version of the MissionL concept.

We'll have more details on the Skoda Mission as soon as they're available.
