Skoda Rapid Revealed

Skoda revealed today the production version of the Rapid, which was previewed at the 2011 Frankfurt auto show by the Mission concept. The Skoda Rapid is set to debut at the 2012 Paris Auto Salon, before going on sale across Europe this fall. Skoda developed the Rapid because it needed a new model in their line-up to fall between the Octavia and the Fabia both in terms of dimensions and price. The Skoda Rapid measures 4.48 meters in length, and 1.7 meters in width. So far, Skoda did not disclose any details regarding its luggage capacity nor its engines. However, we can assume it will offer basically the same engines as the Octavia and the Fabia. The new compact sedan features Skoda's latest design language and promises to offer a fresh and elegant design, coupled with an excellent price-value ratio.

The Skoda Rapid comes with a coupe-like profile, distinctly shaped taillights and the brand's new logo. Skoda says that the new Rapid is able to offer enough room for five occupants and their luggage. When it will go on sale, the Rapid is going to be available with a choice between five petrol and two diesel engines. We'll have all the details and specifications of the Skoda Rapid at the time of its premiere in Paris.
