Daimler revealed at the 2012 Paris auto show the Smart Forstars concept, which they call a SUC or Sports Utility Coupe. The Smart Forstars, which is developed for urban use, comes with two seats and plenty of luggage space. It features a panoramic glass roof, and a video projector integrated into the bonnet. The Smart Forstars measures 3550 mm in length, 1710 mm in width and 1505 mm in height. This means that the Forstars is 603 mm longer than the Smart ForTwo and wider. The Forstars comes with a special tailgate that retracts by 280 mm to make the loading and unloading the 900 mm cargo area easier. The power the Forstars, Smart uses the electric drive powertrain developed by Brabus. This means that the Forstars develops 60 kW and 135 Nm of torque, and that it can reach a top speed of 130 km/h.

The interior of the Smart Forstars is dominated by a new color, called "alubeam rouge". It features two concave seats and a specially designed steering wheel. Instead of the classic rearview mirror, the Forstars has a smartphone, which plays images from behind the car with the help of a video camera. The same smartphone acts as a media source and controls the video projector.

So far, the Smart Forstars is not scheduled for production.
