Toyota announced today the Prius Plug-in Hybrid price list for the British market, together with the fact that the new electric vehicle will go on sale across Europe from the first half of 2012. The Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid has some impressive efficiency figures. It's has an electric-only range of up to 14 miles, a 49g/km CO2 emissions level and a 134.5mpg fuel economy. The Plug-in Hybrid system of the new Prius version includes an internal combustion 1.8-litre VVT-i petrol engine, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. Toyota expects the Prius Plug-in Hybrid to sell well as a corporate fleet vehicle. Fleet operators will have to pay less than £52 GBP per month in taxes, and will benefit from a 100% write-down allowance and lower National Insurance contributions.

To lease the Prius Plug in Hybrid in Europe, Toyota announced they have entered a partnership with LeasePlan Corporation N.V.

The Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid price list for the UK market starts at less than £31,000 GBP. Even so, in our opinion, it's a bit to much to pay for a medium size Toyota sedan / hatchback.
