After fifth Gear, it's now time for the other British automotive TV show, Top Gear, to review the McLaren MP4-12C. Just like their competitors, Top Gear puts the McLaren MP4-12C in a comparison test against the Ferrari 458 Italia. McLaren says that in every mathematical way, the MP4-12C is better than its Italian rival. However, Jeremy Clarkson may have a different opinion.
The McLaren MP4-12C is powered by a 3.8 liter V8 engine, which is quite a lot smaller than Ferrari's 5.0-liter V8 powering the 458 Italia. The MP4-12C outputs 600 PS and 600 Nm of torque, which is 30 hp and 60 Nm more than the 458. The 458 needs 3.4 seconds to reach the 100 km/h mark, while the MP4-12C can rocket from 0 to twice that speed in less than 10 seconds.
