Volvo revealed today two new concepts, called the 40.1 and the 40.2. Apparently, these two new concepts might preview the future versions of the XC40 and of the S40. The Swedish carmaker did not disclose a whole lot of details regarding the Volvo 40.1 and the Volvo 40.2 concepts. However, they do mention that their goal is to expand into the large and lucrative global market for premium small cars. The production versions of the 40.1 and the 40.2 concepts are going to be built on Volvo’s new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA). Volvo says that their future small-car range will include pure electric vehicles and Twin Engine plug-in hybrid models. Volvo's future models will also offer innovative connectivity services, new safety features and "ground-breaking" Scandinavian interior design.
