Volvo revealed today at the 2014 North American International Auto Shoe the new XC Coupe Concept, which is based on the carmaker's new Scalable Product Architecture. The Volvo XC Coupe aims to show that the carmaker is able to increase the safety of its vehicles, without compromising design, size or weight. The Volvo XC is built using high-strength boron steel and it comes with 21-inch wheels, flared wheel arches, and a long bonnet. The interior of the Volvo XC is inspired by the Swedish company POC, which develops high-tech protective gear for extreme sports athletes. They used matte rubber moldings, side moldings and skid plates. Volvo equips the XC coupe concept with T-shaped LED DRL lights.

Volvo did not disclose any details regarding the technology that hides under the hood of the XC coupe. We'll have more details about this concept as soon as Volvo makes them available.
