Lord Paul Drayson managed to set a new top speed land record for a sub-1000kg electric car in his Lola B12. Drayson Racing built this electric car based on a Lola B12 69 Le Mans racer. Drayson and his electric Lola set the new land speed record at 204.2 mph (328.63 km/h). The run took place in Yorkshire on the RAF Elvington racetrack. The Lola B12 69/EV is powered by four electric motors that have a total output of 850 bhp. The official specifications say it can get from zero to 60 mph in 3 seconds and to 100 mph in 5.1 seconds.
